Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:

Thanks to the generosity of Catholics throughout the Diocese of Sacramento, the Annual Catholic Appeal brings help and provides hope for thousands of our neighbors in need.

Together as the Lord’s disciples, we can communicate God’s steadfast love to those who live under the clouds of uncertainty and fear.  We can also assure that the rich Catholic legacy of sacraments, teaching and charity abides in the Diocese of Sacramento.  This year, the Annual Catholic Appeal will:

• Improve the lives of thousands of our own brothers and sisters in need through more than 100 social service programs.
• Support the formation and education of our seminarians.
• Provide need-based tuition assistance to families desiring a Catholic school education for their children.
• Return 25% of proceeds to local parishes for their own social service ministry outreach.

I invite you to join me and the rest of the Catholic community supporting the 2010 Annual Catholic Appeal with generous and grateful hearts.  Your sacrifice can bring assuring comfort to those with worried and wearied lives.
