Thanks to the generosity of the Keane Endowment, several families from Sacred Heart Parish, Red Bluff, have received tuition assistance grants making Catholic education a reality for their children.
The Keane family believes that contributing positively in some way is a rewarding experience - an important way to give back to the community. For this reason they created a memorial scholarship endowment in loving memory of Mr. John Robert Keane who was a positive influence on so many people, and a strong advocate for Catholic education in Red Bluff.
John Robert Keane and his wife Gerry raised seven children, all of whom attended and graduated from Sacred Heart Parochial School, its predecessor, Mercy Academy, and Mercy High School. The Keane family legacy continues with three grandchildren attending parochial schools in Red Bluff, and other schools throughout the Diocese. Sadly, Mr. Keane passed away in 1996. In 1998 Rosalie Escobar, John's mother-in-law, made a provision in her estate plan to honor John Robert by establishing the John Robert Keane Memorial Scholarship Endowment.
