Parishes have used funds from the Appeal for ministries like these and more
Our Lady of Mercy Parish in Redding has helped others by funding its own “Fruits of the Harvest” ministry as well as assisting other local programs such as the Good News Rescue Mission, Women’s Refuge, and LifeLite.
In Portola, Holy Family Parish has provided pastoral care to those in need and to those who are sick and home bound.
St. Thomas Aquinas Newman Center in Chico has provided assistance to the homeless, pregnant women, families in difficult situations, shut-ins and residents of convalescent homes.
St. Anthony Parish in Winters has provided assistance through its food and clothing locker. English classes have also been offered to those in need.
St. Dominic’s Parish in Benecia has donated its Appeal funds to the St. Vincent De Paul Society which assists families in need throughout the year.
In Maxwell, Sacred Heart Parish has opened the door to stranded travelers and offered monetary help with gas, car repair, hot meals, and overnight shelter.
